"unhappy experience"

About: Princess Anne Hospital

What I liked

some friendly supportive staff

What could be improved

some rude staff could do with training in people sills

Anything else?

can't fault the ultrasound lady on my visit for my 12week scan they were very supportive and sympathetic when telling me and my husband that our baby had died a few weeks before hand but going with my younger sister for her scan was an awful experience the lady was rude and i thought out of order for the way she spoke to my sister if we had been there whilst reception was open i would of made this complaint in person to someone but as we had to attent the later clinic it wasnt possible for us to. on several occassions my sister had asked for scan pictures and to find out the sex of her baby both were ignored, we were snapped at for her working a long shift (8.30am til we were there just gone 6.30pm) im sorry in thinking this but that is not our fault she had been working a long shift.

on my visit to have the operation to clear my womb i was treated badly i was ignored on more than one occassion but could hear the nurses talking about a certain doctor that they all fancied (i was in bed right next to nurse station) i understand us women like to talk but on a ward with women going through incomplete missariages that was the last thing i wanted to be listening to, cant fault anisteic team at all they were outstanding!!! but after coming round and being sent back to the ward i had a visit from the doctor who qustioned why i hadnt informed her that i have a double cervix am very surprised that the doctors dont seem to read there patient files as this is stated in every bit of info in my file and i had told the nurse the morning i had gone in also. in all this wasnt a very nice experince to go through but made worse by lack of professionalism of some members of staff.

We are sorry to hear that you and your sister felt distressed by your experiences.

We would like the opportunity to follow this up with you direct, but unfortunately do not get your contact details from this website. If you have not already done so, we would strongly urge you to get in contact with the matron for gynaecology and the care group manager for women and newborn, via our patient advice and liaison team on pals@suht.swest.nhs.uk or 023 8079 8498.
