"As expected; clean, efficient, caring"

About: Frenchay Hospital

What I liked

The staff at the Frenchay Day Hospital Unit were all excellent! Professional and helpful. The facilities were visibly clean and in a good state of repair. The seating and reception area could perhaps be improved, but is perfectly adequate for a day hospital.

What could be improved

The time at which the procedure was conducted; i.e. earlier in the morning (obviously this depended on availability of resources in the hospital). The hospital itself is obviously due for closure so the building itself is not great.

Anything else?

The staff at the Frenchay Day Hospital Unit were excellent! Professional and helpful. I wish to thank them all. I hope that a form of day and community hospital remain at Frenchay after the main hospital closure, alongside other units such as Cosham and the Emersons green treatment centre to enable local convenient access to minor services (such as clinics, diagnostics and check ups)

Response from Frenchay Hospital

Dear Anonymous - thank you for taking the time to post your comments about your visit to Frenchay Hospital. I am pleased that overall you had a very positive experience. I will add you compliment to the more than 9000 the Trust has received this year.

The Trust is always keen to understand what improvements we can make to our services and I have fed your comments back to the areas concerned for the staff to be made aware of the helpful and professional service they provided, but also so we can consider improvements to the reception area.

The plans are that Frenchay will remain as a community hospital after the main acute services move to Southmead and I am sure staff will be keen to ensure the services they deliver continue to meet patients’ expectations.

Kind Regards – Steve Sykes
