What I liked

The attitude of all staff I encounted during my visits from the reception staff to consultants. You are all a credit to the NHS.

What could be improved

Nothing.

Anything else?

I was referred to the dermatology department after making several visits to my GP and undergoing blood tests, liver function tests and liver scans due to persistant intense itching. The GP had an idea what was wrong but wanted a second opinion.

I walked into the waiting area and registered the fact I had arrived for my appointment. I didn't have a chance to sit down before I was called in to see the consultant I was due to see. The consultant had a student with them, I was asked if I minded if they stayed for the consultation, I didn't as how else are they expected to learn and gain experience? Both the student and the consultant listened to the symptoms I was experiencing from my point of view and not just my GP's. Both listened and valued my opinon.

I had to remove clothing during the consultation and although the door was locked I was still given privacy while removing clothing. I have to admit, both the student and consultant took one look at me and confirmed my GP's suspision. I was immediately prescribed and within 5 minutes given various creams which I still have to use this day.

I would also like to say the same for the staff within the x-ray department where I had my liver scan. They were efficient, treated me with respect and dignity and explained what was happening, what they could see and they even showed and explained the scan pictures.

Thank you again.
