"Great experience"

About: Rotherham Hospital

What I liked

After hearing lots of mixed reviews about the labour ward at Rotherham, I was apprehensive about having my first baby delivered there. From the minute I entered the ward I was treat with nothing but respect and was made to feel instantly at ease. The two midwifes that looked after me during my stay were fantastic and i coudnt have asked for better really. As my labour became complicated and other health professionals had to be involved, ie. consultants and paediatricians, I cannot praise these staff enough either.

Overall a great first labour experience, made a lot easier by great staffi that kept me and my husband involved in everything they were doing.

My transfer to B10 on the whole was also good and most of the staff were pleasant and helpful, with the exception of a rather grumpy health care support worker, who maybe should keep her opinions about patients to herself instead of broadcasting it to the rest of the bay.

What could be improved

Labour ward are doing a fantastic job, theres nothing more I could have asked for.

B10 the food at mealtimes left a lot to be desired. Not enough to sustain a breastfeeding mother! After a stay of 5 days, exhausted, sleep deprived and starving, I was climbing the walls and more than ready for home.
