"Very concerned."

About: Pinderfields General Hospital

Anything else?

My father was admitted via A&E onto Acute Admissions. He recently had major surgery and is now confused and unable to understand anything the Dr's and nurses are saying. He repeatedly asked the nursing staff to contact me or my mother to come to the hospital but they didn't. He is very ill and having difficulty breathing, he felt so ill he thought he was dying and wanted me and my mother there because he was and is very frightened.

He went into hospital with a range of medication prescribed following his surgery and anti-biotics prescribed by his gp. He has not been given any of his medication and doesn't know why. We asked for someone to come and speak to us with my dad so that we could find out what is happening and explain things to dad and ask any questions. After a few hours we were told everyone is too busy. I asked the nurse who was looking after my father why he wasn't being given any of his medication and she had no idea.

We had to leave at 6pm and have tried phoning the ward for several hours to find out how my father is but have been unable to get anyone to even answer the telephone. I'm extremely concerned about him and whether or not he's being cared for properly.
