"I would do anything possible not to be..."

About: Northern General Hospital

What I liked

I was rushed in to hospital on the 27th October suffering from heart failure and thanks to the staff who were there, they probably saved my life as I don't think my body would have sorted this out its self. Most of the staff were courteous, in fact all the staff were apart from the consultants and doctors I came into contact with. At times they were obnoxious and rude.

What could be improved

Actually explaining what my long term prospects are, the consultant speaking to me when he said he would when I was visiting the heart failure clinic. He did not respond to my requests of information and actually wrote to me not understanding what my problem was. This happened to me when I was 36, all the information I could find was for older sufferers, so did not relate to me that much. To finish this off I received a questionairre recently asking me what I thought to my treatment in the heart failure clinic, one of the first questions was were you spoken to regarding dealing with and arranging for your death. Nothing was ever said to me like I said earlier regarding long term prospects. After visiting the heart failure clinic for once a month for the first 3 months of 2010 i have heard nothing from the hospital.

Anything else?

I was previously treated at the hospital for cruciate ligament damage, after operating and sending me on my way with an exercise sheet I moved to Leeds and continued to have problems with my knee, after visiting my new GP, he arrange for me to visit the Leeds General Infirmary who could not believe the Northern General had not offered me any physiotherapy.
