What I liked
Very little.
What could be improved
The admin at QMC is below the level that it should be. The communication with other case involved medical teams is sporadic and inefficient, and occasionally rude. The paper file in question has the appearance of being spilled on the floor and hastily stuffed back together in random fashion, and never seeing the same consultant twice in a row has the consequence of time wasting questions, as no one seems to bother pre-reading the notes.
The cleanliness is adequate but could be improved.
The attitude of some of the staff is an issue, they can be pushy and do not give enough consideration to the wishes of the patient.
There have obviously been staffing issues in some departments, due to no fault of the hospital.
Anything else?
QMC would do well to make it a proprity in their patient charter that they should treat patients with respect, and discuss cases fully and openly, and not try to coerce patients into accepting treatments that are not fully explained.
Junior not yet qualified consultants should be reminded that arrogance is not helpful to them or the patient, and they should not be allowed to carry out unsupervised surgical procedures until they are in fact fully qualified, and any ensuing problems should be treated responsibly by them and their superiors, and documented in the patient file, not brushed under the carpet.
"Put off for life!"
