"Frightening but felt safe in the caring..."

About: Darent Valley Hospital

What I liked

I was visiting my Aunt on Sunday 20 February about 4pm in Maple Ward when I became unwell. as I started to leave the Ward I started to become very dizzy and started reeching and my legs began to give way. My wife grabbed hold of me and called for help. Staff appeared immediately and got me into a wheelchair and then took me into a room and laid me onto a couch and were very attentive. They carried out an ECC and arrange for me to transferred to AE. All these staff were excellent, my wife who is a State Registered Nurse from 1963 was in full praise of their skill, dedication etc. I felt completely safe in their hands.

On entering AE I could see how extremely busy they were but they put me into a bay and treated me with compete courtesy and privacy and again I am absolutely satisfied with the treatment I received. Every person from the Porter to the Doctor were fantastic. Luckily I had not had another heart attack as was first thought and after all the necassary tests I was allowed home.

I have nothing but praise for everyone I came in contact with, especially the Nurses of Maple Ward. Well done Maple Ward Well done AE and the porter Well done Darent Valley Hospital
