"I was treated with the utmost respect and consideration by everyone I had contact with."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital North East Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

I had been feeling breathless for about 3 weeks and have COPD and left ventricular failure.

Last monday morning I was worse, and my wife rang for an Ambulance, that arrived within 4 minutes and treated me in my bedroom, carried me downstairs, and continued more treatment in the back of the ambulance.

One driver took us to A@Eand the nurse and doctors took over. I was taken into "Resus" I had various things done to try to get me breathing in a more controlled way.

Later in the day I was transfered to a ward, and later into Coronary Care.I was treated with the utmost respect and consideration by everyone I had contact with.I was very ill and thought I was dying. The reassurance and dignity was excellent.

The food was good and I am used to decent food, and have eaten in many Countries.
