The results of my blood tests at the GP surgery flagged up a need to see an endocrinologist. I chose York Hospital. The choose and book service did not let me make an appointment. I eventually was given an appointment after the hospital received a referral letter from my GP. I had more tests and was dismissed from seeing the consultant after two appointments with a watching brief.
6 months later I had more blood tests at the GP surgery which flagged up needing to see an endocrinologist. This time I wanted to go to Hull Hospital for a second opinion. Once again the choose and book service did not throw up an appointment.
To my horror I also find that the test results from the York Hospital are not with my GP. If I had realised this I would have made notes at my consultant appointment.
I find it a very strange system.
I wonder if the choose and book system really ever works for patients?
