"My aim is to be off all drugs by the end of the year"

About: Guernsey House / Primary care addiction service Sheffield (PCASS)

(as the patient),

I've been coming to guernsey house for 18months now. They've really helped me towards recovery and I feel I'm very close to achieving what I want to achieve. I've not used for 18months to 2yrs now and I have no worries about that, I am confident that I will never use again. I've been ill recently which has set me back a bit but I feel that by the end of the year I'll be completely off suboxone and will be drug free.

I didn't need any help with accomodation because I've got that sorted but I know the help was there if I needed it.

I had a slip up recently and was dead nervous about coming back in but I wasn't made to feel awful about it, they understood and helped me. I needn't have worried. It wasn't a major lapse but it was good to know that I wasn't gong to be judged and could relax.

I feel I'm well on the way to recovery, I'm sure I'll be off suboxone by the end of the year and I'm already volunteering to get my out of my flat. I used to do conservation work which meant I was out building walls and ponds and it helped me so much, especially as I struggle to sleep and have to take sleeping pills but if I'm working then I tire myself out. If things go off track, I know who I can call on but for now, it's all going well.
