"There's nothing major to say really"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Vascular surgery

(as the patient),

There's nothing major to say really - my stay was fine.

However, the ward is closing at the end of March, staff are rushed off their feet due to low staffing levels and if it wasn't for the dedication of nurses / carers etc needs wouldn't be met as efficiently as they are.

I blame the government and their big ideas re privatisation, budget cuts ect. The PCT is not to blame.

I am pleased that your stay was fine, and I hope you are much recovered. The ward is staffed to a recognised model but of course there are times when it becomes very busy. The staff on this ward always work very hard and I will pass on your comments to them.

Kind regards

Philip Dylak

Director of Nursing

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved?

Please contact Philip Dylak, Director of Nursing at philip.dylak@tgh.nhs.uk
