"Made to feel like a 2 year old in physiotherapy "

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I have been referred to Physiotherapy from the chest clinic as I have Bronchiectasis. I have been at an earlier date and the Physio gave me certain techniques as to breathe easier. I was on my own and obviously didn't take everything in and was confused how to do it. On the second occasion it was the same person I saw and I had my husband with me this time.

We both thought they was very rude and abrupt. I remarked how warm it was in the room and they replied in what I thought was an abrupt manner "How do you think I feel I've been here 4 hours"

Because I hadn't remembered how to do the exercises properly they started banging their fist at their head and said "haven't you been listening properly?" and then told me they hadn't got time for all this as they had to be somewhere else in 30 mins.

My husband was going to say something to them but he didn't as he didn't like upsetting me. We both found their attitude appalling. We found the Physio very rude. I think they should accept that when people are ill they can feel very vulnerable and the least they should expect is good manners.

I am 61 years old and I was made to feel like a 2 year old.
