"GP's lack of knowledge on services provided at local Bridlington Hospital"

I've just meet one of my new GP's I needed to see a local Rheumatology Consultant as I have RA. I asked if I could be seen at Bridlington Hospital or Scarborough, she didn't know and instead went to the Choose and Book service and offered me Beverley Hull or York. No wonder poor Bridlington Hospital is in trouble if the local GP's aren't sending patients to their local services but miles away in another health trusts area. She couldn't even tell me who the local Consultant was; she called the area a "backwater" and said I shouldn't expect the same services I had in the South of England. I thought I was an NHS patient so why is it so different in East Yorkshire. Maybe it's because of the complacency of the GP's and patients in the area that mean they are getting a poor quality service.
