I was a clinic patient at Pinderfields Hospital Wakefield then when I received my next appointment letter it was for Dewsbury Hospital as I already travelled 20 miles to Pinderfields Hospital this change would have meant a 45 miles round trip - I am registered disabled and even though I do have my own transport I felt unable to make this long journey to a strange hospital for a 9.30 appointment. How other patients who have to travel on public transport could make this appointment as it means 3 seperate buses and they would probably have to leave home before 7am I see no reason for this change whatsoever. There has been a bus between hospitals put on for patients and visitors but as this does not start until 1.30pm it is utterly no use for this clinic or many others I would think. In my case that means I cannot attent?d my clnic and have cancelled my appointment - I imagine this one way of saving the NHS money.
