I just wanted to tell the other side of the story of Stafford Hospital. Unfortunately the hospital has a bad reputation. In my experience nothing could be further from the truth. In reality it is staffed by people who CARE; whether medical staff or other staff needed to run this hospital.
I do not work for the NHS, and I am not related (as far as I know) to anyone who works for the NHS.
I have had a chronic illness since 1994, and have always been treated well and with the greatest care and attention. My treatment has included two liver biopsies as a result of the medication I take, and each time I was impressed by the treatment I received, and the care the nurses took over cleanliness. My long term care is also first class; I see my Consultant every 12 weeks or thereabout, and am always treated with respect.
I have also had other illnesses/operations in the past that have meant stays in hospital, and on each occasion I have come across nothing but dedication and care from the medical staff, not forgetting the clerical staff.
My husband also has a long-term condition and he also had good treatment from hospital staff. He also had a heart attack a few years ago, and received excellent treatment at Stafford Hospital. He has nothing but praise for the medical staff who treated him. I have had other relatives treated in the hospital too, including my late Mother and again, the dedication of the nurses and doctors was second to none.
Of course, I have nothing but sympathy for people who have lost loved-ones, or who are ill themselves. Sometimes things go wrong in any organisation and we have to work together to make things better by encouragement, not discouragement. We should work on the positive, not on the negative..
So, BRAVO STAFFORD HOSPITAL.
