"Being overlooked and not understood"

About: Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust Medway Maritime Hospital Medway PCT

(as the patient),

I have a five year old boy in foster care and this has made my depression worse. I feel the team at medway maritime failed me and also i've been a rape victim and i've recently been punched in the face.

No one wanted to listen and no one seems to care if you suffer with a mental health problem, and I feel I've just been left out in the cold. I was told they would help me to get support in visiting my son but they didn't they just ignored me.

My son's five now, he was three and a half then.Considering he's the other side of the country it's awful.

We were very disappointed to hear that you felt your circumstances were not recognised by our staff who are supporting you. Anyone using our service should expect that their personal circumstances are considered in the provision of care, and this includes having children in care or being the victim of physical or sexual abuse. Please feel free to raise this with the staff involved in your care. If you still feel that they are not giving you the support you need you could raise this with our PALS service at pals@kmpt.nhs.uk or tel 0800 587 6757 and they will be pleased to assist you.
