What I liked
I recently found a lump in my breast and was referred by my GP to the West Middlesex. I was called the next day and given an appointment for an ultrasound at Teddington Memorial in a few days time. The staff there were very helpful and communicative, particulary when there was a wait for a Radiologist to attend to do the ultrasound scan. Thankfully nothing untoward was seen on ultrasound but they wanted me to have a mammogram to be doubly sure. This was communicated very well to me so that i wasn't anxious about having another test.
The appointment for the mammogram came quickly and went very smoothly - i was in and out of the hospital in under half an hour having been seen by a very professionsal radiographer who guided me through the uncomfortable procedure with humour and care.
What could be improved
Only suggestion would be not to call the Clinic at Teddington the Breast Surgery Clinic - at West Midd its called the Breast Care clinic and this is a title that does not add additional stress to the situation.AppointmentsReferralsBreast surgeryCommunicationPatient careRadiologyRadiographer
