"Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at ward 5"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I was admitted on the 5th January for a total knee replacement at the Tameside General Hospital. My stay was a very pleasant experience as the staff gave excellent care and attention. Nothing is too much trouble especially as there were 5 elderly frail medical cases that required constant attention. They were treated with dignity and respect.

Thank you to each and every member of the staff on ward 5 for making it an excellent ward.

Dear Pennies492

Thank you for posting these comments regarding your recent stay at Tameside Hospital. I am very pleased that the staff at Tameside Hospital gave excellent care and attention and that you observed staff to be acting in a manner consistent with Trust dignity in care principles. We have recently undertaken some “patient experience” work on this ward to find out what people think of their care, and like you the patients who responded rated their care very highly.

I will ensure your kind comments are passed on to the staff concerned.

With kind regards and best wishes – I do hope you are fully recovered now

Kind regards

Philip Dylak

Would you like to help the hospital to improve its services further? We are currently looking for patients and carers to become involved in a development called “Patient Stories”. We want to know more about our services from the point of view of those who received them – what was good, bad, what could be improved, what should be changed. Want to know more about what’s involved?

Please contact Philip Dylak, Director of Nursing at philip.dylak@tgh.nhs.uk
