What I liked
I was admitted with possible meningitis. The nurses involved in my care did not follow the NMC code of conduct at all. I was put in a bed and waited 2 hours before being admitted. A nurse came and took bloods and a urine sample and checked my obs before introducing herself. I was told to take painkillers, not asked. It was in the middle of the night and the staff were loud and noisy making it hard for people to sleep. When the doctor came she told me I probably had a brain tumour and needed a cat scan in the morning, which turned out to be utter rubbish. When I saw the doctor's in the morning I was poked and prodded by several student doctors, none of them introducing themselves. Patient dignity and respect is not a priority here. I would rather drive 40mins to the next hospital than endure the shocking care at Fairfield again.
