What could be improved
My wife was admitted to hospital on Sunday via A&E with kidney stones. Unfortunately, the hospital forgot to put her on the computer system, which resulted in a day where no nurse / doctor came to see her. Her pain was treated with paracetamol (which I can do at home) and although stockings were promised to prevent blood cloths, they were never given. I find the attitude of the staff very bad, no service, no information, no English in some cases. I can't believe that this is still happening in the UK. Glorious NHS, a waste of money in this hospital. My wife is in hosiptal for 3 days now and we still don't know what will happen. Her first scan was in November and she has suffered severe pains from then. I can see it happening that she will be discarged this week without any preventive action being taken. My little boy wasn't even allowed to she his mummy as there was 'infection risk' on the ward. The nurse claimed that this was displayed on the notice before entering the ward. It actually stated that children must be accompanied by an adult and nothing about infection risk on this 'general' ward. However, my wife was able to go outside the ward to see him. Surely that defeats every objective.Computer systemsInfectionsKidney stonesParacetamolAttitudeCommunicationServiceDoctorsChildren
