"Treatment and care in hospital was OK..."

About: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital

What could be improved

Follow-up is very poor. My mother was admitted early December 2010 with a heart attack she was also suspected to have cancer. A biopsy was taken in December and she was released.

She received an appointment for about the 8th Jan which was subsequently cancelled by the hospital and rescheduled to 26th Jan. I came down from Lincoln to take and be with mum. We were then told that the biopsy was too small and crushed and no conclusion could be made.

Why did it take seven weeks to decide the biopsy was no good? We were also told that an appointment would be made for Wed 2nd Feb and a confirmation would be sent. Of course, no such confirmation arrived. My mother is almost 89 and it seems that she does not deserve a decent quality of life!AppointmentsCancellationsFollow upCancer and tumoursHeart attackCancer
