About: Lymington New Forest Hospital

What I liked

Nothing as usual

What could be improved

I was telephoned today by a staff member who understandably chose not to give her full name, and indeed was reluctant to give any name. She asked me my name and whether I was the partner of the person she was ringing. She then told me she had made a follow-up appointment with a particular named doctor. She then refused to tell me the date of the appointment because it was a data protection issue!

Obviously the date of an appointment is far more sensitive than the name of the doctor and the fact that it's a follow up appointment.

The switchboard do not know the name of the Data Protection Officer. I am sure this staff member is aware that she is personally responsible under the data protection act for giving personal information away.AppointmentsFollow upCommunicationTelephoneDoctors
