After seeing my GP for a suspected cyst, I was referred to the Jarvis Clinic and had an appointment in just a few days. It was my first mammogram and I have to say, mammograms are given a bad reputation they simply do not deserve!
I have silicone implants which I had done over 10 years ago and expected it to be painful as I have heard so many stories. All I experienced was mild discomfort for the length of time it takes to inhale and exhale. The radiographer, Pat could not have been more kind or have done more to put me at ease. Don't let the thought of a mammogram put you off an essential health check.
Dr Michael who examined me afterwards was lovely as was the nurse who assisted her. The needle aspirations of my 4 cysts was again only mildly uncomfortable. I was in and out of the clinic in just over an hour.
I was very impressed with the clinic and the service overall. In fact, I would rate this as a far better experience than that I had at a private clinic 2 years ago where I also underwent an ultrasound and needle aspiration.
