"dissapointing"

About: Manor Hospital

What I liked

i found my time at the hospital fine most staff were very pleasent and willing to help

What could be improved

the lack of nursing staff on the childrens ward was very disappointing as this only leads to mistakes being made as i witnessed first hand during our 9 day stay over the christmas period my 4 month old son became victim to one of the errors that occur when staff are not taking the time out to check patients information properly as 1 nurse gave my 4 month old baby medication that was not ment for him as at this point he was on no medication, which was then tried to be kept hush hush was told a full investigation would take place but the nurse who made the error was working on the ward 2 days later this was a very dangerous situation to put a baby in but to let the nurse continue to work after this without an investigation is disgusting to say the least i have so far not received any feedback about the incident as promised would happen another incident that will try to be brushed under the carpet these people should be ashamed of themselves.

Anything else?

Thank you for posting your comment. I am concerned by your feedback, as the situation you have described is of a very serious nature. As Associate Director of Nursing for the Hospital, I am aware of the situation and can assure you that there is an ongoing investigation and the person concerned is longer involved in delivering patient care. I am very happy to discuss this with you in more detail please contact me directly.

The quality of care for all our patients is of utmost importance to us, and if things go wrong we have to ensure that we’ve investigated every aspect and put in place changes to improve care for patients and also support our staff.

I would be grateful if you could contact either myself on 01922 721172 or the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01922 656463 so that we can look into this issue in further detail and update you.
