About: Ipswich Hospital

What I liked

i gave birth to my son 5 weeks early and due to this he was taken into the neonatal special care unit. As a single parent with no family in the area i found this extremely hard to deal with being on my own in labour and my son being rushed off but the maternity staff on both deben and brook wards were fantastic in looking after me and supporrting me through my labour and the time i was there afterwards. Even down to the kitchen staff who made sure i was eating properly bless them. As for the neonatal nurses i have one word for them fantastic! Thanks to them i had a great support network when i was visiting my son and following their advice helped my son get out of hospital in just 7 days when i was originally expecting it to be 21-28 days. he made an amazing u-turn after a rough 2 daysof being violently sick and not maintaining a steady temperature when the nurses started cup feeding him my breast milk and went from strentgh to strentgh i can not thank them enough for their amazing work in looking after my son and supporting me when i was staying on the ward, also the cleaning staff kept the wards immaculate and were also very kind n supportive in both the maternity wards and neonatal unit. I had my daughter here aswell which was a trouble free birth but i had a fantastic experience then thanks to the wonderful staff. well done guys keep up the spectacular work!!!! x

What could be improved
