"Very poor Service"

About: Queen Mary's Hospital

(as the patient),

I had an appointment booked by Queen Mary's Hospital (Sidcup) for a Breast Screening at a mobile unit at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich for early afternoon in very early December 2010.

I rang the number on my letter twice that morning to confirm that I would be seen. As it had snowed the day before I explained that I did not wish to waste my journey if the staff weren't there to do the scan. I was assured that they were in and that I should attend at my appointment time.

When I got to the hospital there was a note on the door of the mobile unit stating they were closed. I was very angry and called Queen Mary's from the Reception Office at Queen Elizabeth and was told that staff had left early!

When I got home I rang to complain and asked for a refund for my parking. The person in charge (I have her name) said she would speak to her staff and write to me, which, to date she hasn't. She told me I should ask Queen Elizabeth for a refund as she was unable to refund me. I explained that Queen Elizabeth were not at fault and would like a refund when I attend my next appointment in Jan 2011. She told me she needed further guidance and again would write to me. I have given this person names of her staff, as she requested and have still not received a reply from her.

This is a hospital that has sent me 4 appointments, for 4 different days, in 4 different envelopes, dated the SAME DAY! All I can say is that from my experience I am left to believe that they really don't give two hoots about how they treat people, it seems to me that they really don't care.
