"Can you tell Im not very happy?"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital

What I liked

Not impressed so far. The Consultants secretary has been brilliant though.

What could be improved

Sticking to your 18 week target

Anything else?

I was seen by a consultant at the end of July 2010 and was told I needed a bunion correction operation, the waiting list was 12 weeks, which was fine. I received a date of 6th November. Operation cancelled. I eventually received another date for the operation of 2nd December. Operation cancelled. 25 weeks on I now have another date, 20th January. What do you think my chances are? What happened to the NHS target of 18 weeks? Meanwhile Im in more pain than I was 6 months ago.

On the plus side the Consultants secretary has been lovely. We've spoken so much over the last couple of months I feel like I know them now!2010CancellationsBunionsConsultantsReception staff

It is with regret that the patient’s surgery was cancelled twice. The hospital did have an increase in emergency admissions to the hospital during the winter period. As a result of these emergency admissions, we had to review all patients expected to come in for non-urgent elective procedures and had no alternative but to cancel patients.

We do apologise for this and would like to assure everyone that the Trust did considered all options to avoid cancellations but at the time, there were no beds available for your admission.
