"finding my daughter"

About: Weston General Hospital

(as a relative),

My daughter went in to have quite a substantial operation. when I phoned on the evening to enquire that all went well I was informed that she was not there and she had not had an operation, when I insisted that she had I was told that a bed had been reserved for her but she had not arrived, as you can imagine this caused me great distress I spoke to the hospital duty manager and she phoned round several wards that she said my daughter would be on if she had ahad an operation, and came back saying she was not there. I then phoned her partner to check he said he was told she was on waterside ward. I then phoned the hospital again and told them this they did some more checking and found she was still in recovery waiting for a bed, I was told the mix up was due to them changing operating theaters.

I find this totally unacceptable, it is not the only instance of bad administration she was due a scan before her operation to determine how they would proceed, and when she went for her pre op check she mentioned what time her scan was going to be flagging up the fact that the appointment for the scan was later than the operation appointment.
