"Poor service in childrens emergency..."

About: Royal Derby Hospital

Anything else?

As a nurse myself I was far from impressed with treatment my family received from staff in the childrens emergency department. A sarcastic doctor implied we seemed to quite like spending time there despite the fact that our daughter had been referred there by our Gp and we were generally treated like we were stupid. We were constantly asked by different doctors what our daughters observations were and even if she had any done which showed a complete lack of communication between staff and a poor system. They also seem to have a rather lax attitude to patient confidentiality as the computer was left on in our cubicle with details of other patients and their conditions for us to see and as I believe one of our doctors had left themselves logged into the computer there was the potential for even more confidential information to be accessed. Overall very poor treatment from staff who really didn't seem to care much at all.ReferralsAttitudeCommunicationConfidentialityEmergencyPatient carePrivacyAccessibilityChildrenDoctors
