I was hallamshire hospital for two weeks and everything went as planned. The ward was fine although the food was not very good. However, there was a lady next to me who had a clot and was very nervous when they told her she needed surgery. She cried all night and it turned out in the morning that part of the reason she was soo upset was because she did not have a will. They sat with her to do one and told her they would take her to surgery that afternoon, no one came.
She was told several times that she would, then wouldn't need surgery which made her more and more upset that eventually she decided that she didnt want the surgery. A member of staff said these beds were for special patients and that if she didnt want the surgery then she would have to leave. I felt this was poor treatment by the hospital
"poor treatment of one woman on the ward"
