"told there is a risk of paralysis but still no treatment "

About: Stoke Mandeville Hospital

(as the patient),

I went to doctor with very painful back over a year ago, told to take paracetomol and would feel fine in a fortnight. Went to see my physio who would not touch me, thought was serious and told me to go back to doctor and ask for MRI. Doctor reluctantly requested MRI, I saw another doctor as did not like doctor's attitude. Original doctor rang and left message for me to ring after MRI, I saw new doctor for my results. Conclusion Large central disc causing gross canal stenosis, urgent orthopaedic review advised.

My doctor told me to keep mri results on me at all times and that I was at risk of paralysis. Over a year later, had one more MRI, pre op, told I would have injection in spine first to see if that works and if not they would operate...over eight weeks ago now, I think and still no treatment. It is now 13 months since I went to the doctor and no treatment whatsoever!...I think this is appauling, I have actually given up, it feels like nobody wants to know.
