"Locum had limited knowledge of my condition"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Cardiology

(as the patient),

I am entirely satisfied with my local GP and the staff at the practise. They are always pleasant and try to be helpful to meet my needs.

I recently had an appointment at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. I have a long standing heart condition going back many years.

My yearly clinic appointment was for me to see a Locum Registrar.

It was his first day at the hospital, after listening to my problem, he made recommendations to the consultant. I then had a phone call from the consultant saying she did not agree with his diagnosis and further appointments were made for me to go see the consultant.

My point is that, the Locum had limited knowledge of my condition and I believe that a long standing condition like that needs to be closely watched and closely seen by a consultant. In this instance, one appointment could have saved both the hospitals time and my time.
