What I liked
After giving birth to my baby boy, he was taken to neo-natal after swallowing maconium in the waters. He was quite I'll and had to stay in for two weeks. Whilst I stayed in hospital unfortunately without my baby boy beside me. The staff gave me a room to my self for the whole duration of my stay. My stay I think was around 3 days. (4nights) they welcomed me to stay longer if I wished but as I live fairly close by I was happy to go home.
I thought it was really lovely having a whole room all to my self. Some thing that made my stay so much more enjoyable. I'm a summing I was placed in their to keep me away from other mums and babys. It was actualy nice to be alone in my room and away from others and my baby. I could sleep at night with a small light on if I wished, have no one snoring beside me, phone my husband and friends without feeling I was caulsing a disturbance. What I did effected no one.
I could have a shower & come and go as I wished with no attachment to the word as most would have a baby to attend to. My baby was safely being cared for my the staff in neo-natal.
On my return to home I could sleep at night catching up on lost sleep, some thing I hadn't done before. When we were finally aloud to bring him home, I felt ready to care for a newborn baby.
What could be improved
I couldn't fault the hospital really.
I guess the only thing I could ask is employ more staff. After I gave birth I was left in my wet yukki bed for quite some time.
My husband and baby were down in neo-natal but I was left on labour ward.
Unbearable as it was I wanted to see my baby. IDE only held him for a short while before he was taken down. I called the nurse 3 times but still got no answer to give me permit ion to leave the ward. I felt I couldn't just leave as all my things were in that room. If they had decided to move me to a ward die of not known where to go, so had to wait it out. 3 hrs passed before they gave me permission. It was a round an hr and a half or so before I was able to go for a bath and have my bed changed. Was yuk!
All in all my stay was gd apart from that small issue.
"A fantastic hospital with the best staff..."
