What I liked
Whatever had to be done was explained in advance so I knew where I stood and what my options were (as I had to be induced). Attitudes have definitely improved over the decades. In the 70's my mum was told that she left it rather late, whilst in labour with my sister (aged 35). I'm 40 with my 1st child and told I was a spring chicken by one of the midwives!
It was lovely to be see several different cultures of midwives working well together. The nursery nurses were also helpful. Good atmosphere and friendliness of staff was witnessed also by my husband. My questions were always answered.
People moan about hospital food, however I found it was a good standard.
What could be improved
We live 25 miles away and my husband would have appreciated a shower and possibly a basic bed in a nearby unit. He had been awake for about 2 days in all. I understand you have a policy about germs though. It would have been good if he could have eaten with me, even at an extra cost.
Anything else?
My credits go to all the staff who don't just have a job, but a vocation. Many thanks for delivering Hollie safely and well-being of mum.
"Very good indeed (apart from pains)."
