When my husband came home from 3 months in hospital after breaking a hip and arm in a fall. Social services gave us morning care for washing and dressing at 9am, but never was. Many a times my husband was waiting until 11am.
Also help in the evening for putting him to bed which usually was as early as 6pm. This was unacceptable and very upsetting for my husband who had Parkinson disease. Eventually, he cancelled both services.
We were told that from health and safety reasons, the carers should not take off their shoes which meant that they left dirty marks on the carpet, even in the bathroom. What about our health and safety?
