I was plucked from Tesco's in Salisbury whilst on a shopping trip last Tuesday by the ambulance service after having experienced chest pains and shortness of breath.
The call handler at the ambulance service gave instructions to the Tesco staff on what to do for me until the ambulance staff arrived and an Emergency Care Practitioner arrived very quickly in a Rapid Response Vehicle, closely followed by an ambulance.
I'm particularly grateful to the ECP as she managed to capture and record an abnormal heart rhythm on the heart monitor which I suspected I had been having but had never been caught on a monitor before, as it tends to come and go.
I am also very grateful to the two ambulance crew who took such good care of me during our fairly brief trip to Salisbury District Hospital (where I also received excellent care), as well as the lady community first responder, travelling with the ambulance crew. Thank you all very much.
