"My elderly 83 year old mother did not..."

What could be improved

My 83 year old diabetic mother had an appointment at 3.20 for which she was prompt. She was not seen for laser surgery on her eye until nearly 6pm by which time she was absaloutely freezing and shivering with cold. She was the last client to have been seen. Although the consultant who performed the procedure was kindly and wheeled her to where my elderly father was waiting for her, she had no other attention whatsoever. Why is someone of her needs left until that time? They had to then drive in the dark, in rush hour which for an 83 year old is truamatic. She has not felt well since this and developed a urinary infection. Where is the care?
