"Can the local authority work with the self help group?"

After suffering with family relationships for several years, I finally got a diagnosis of depression, and some medication which was effective. The best help I got was from a self-help (self-managed) group, which was poorly advertised. The local authority seems to refuse to acknowledge it's existence yet local GPs advertise its posters and recommend people to the group.

I think the local authority should be guided to acknowledge the good work done by the group, even though they were not responsible for it's development, and work in true partnership to advertise the group for the benefit of service users.
