About: Stepping Hill Hospital

What I liked

I had an appointment for my baby daughter and the receptionist was very helpful, the doctor I saw took the time to listen and the areas I visited including the toilets were very clean and smelled clean too.

The staff around the hospital were very helpful when I asked for directions. One of the porters even went to the dietetics department first (as it was outside) to make sure it was the correct place for me to go to to collect some specially prescribed formula.

I got the impression that the staff enjoyed working in the hospital and took pride in their work. As a health professional who until recently worked for the NHS for nearly 13 years I was very pleasently surprised. I would definitely recommend this hospital to others.

What could be improved

It is not a very pretty hospital, and could do with some decoration TLC but that would just be an extra bonus.

Anything else?

There was a good selection of toys for all ages available in the clinic and they looked clean. A very nice surprise as most GP surgeries out of fear no longer have toys available.

Response from Stepping Hill Hospital

Many thanks for your most positive comments about our hospital and especially the comments regarding reception staff, clinical staff and portering staff and on our standards of cleanliness and hygiene; the Trust works very hard to ensure the highest possible cleanliness and hygiene standards are attained and maintained on behalf of all patients and visitors. Also the Trust instil in all staff the importance of excellent customer services - I am very pleased that you received all the help and assistance from all levels of staff on your recent visit and receiving positive feedback like this I am sure will motivate staff to continue to do a good job.

Yours sincerely
