What I liked

Having been transferred here from another hospital, following an accident 20 days previously, it was at Ripon Hospital that my recovery began. This being due entirely

to the care and kindness way beyond the realms of duty, displayed by each and every member of staff employed on Trinity Ward.

Having now been here for almost 7 weeks, with further uncertainty regarding my state of recovery lying ahead of me, I am consoled during lower moments by encouraging words of support from members of staff who possess also a heartening sense of humour. This being an attribute not only essential to easing the occupational difficulties they encounter, but valued also as a dependent patient for the reassurances that at more modest moments, this can bring.

I would reiterate that my thanks extend to all of you including cooks, cleaners, porters, carers, nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and if I have forgotten to mention anyone, thanks to you also, and I’m sorry!

I understand that there remains funding for only 15 patients despite the ward accommodating 20 beds. I thus hope sincerely for the sake of future patients who may have the good fortune to be treated here, that this most valuable of resources remains exempt from the new coalition government’s cuts, as it is an absolute gem within the crown of the community.
