I have recently undergone vascular surgery on both my legs. This was done as day surgery at Charing Cross Hospital.
I have absolutely no complaints at all with the service I received, the staff were wonderful and I was kept fully informed of what was happening. Except that is for when I was discharged.
I feel it would have been extremely helpful if I had been given an A4 sheet of paper just explaining what I should do post-op re my legs, ie how much walking, what to look out for regarding problems etc. I know I could have asked when I was discharged but those of you who have had day surgery will understand that you are not really with it.
When I went for my pre-op checkup I was given a very informative leaflet on the aneasthetic procedure, something similar I feel would have been so useful regarding post op care.
