What I liked
I had to attend the EPU a week before my 12 week appointment. The staff here were sympathetic and helpful. Brilliant!
I then re-attended a week later. First I went for my scan. I was seen late and the sonographer didn't say much but they were polite enough.
What could be improved
I had to wait for 3 hours for my booking app and bloods. I was placed in a room and waited about 20 minutes for the midwife but they were pleasant and took my bloods with minimum fuss.
I was then left for 45 minutes to wait for the Dr. When the doctor came in they were rude and obviously in a rush. I am pregnant with number 4 and the Dr, very rudely, suggested that perhaps I should think more carefully about contraception and would I like a sterilisation after my baby was born!
I work a full time 40 hour week in a respected role and earning a good wage, and paying a large amount in tax and NI. I am certainly not a burden to anyone, so how dare they apply their morals to me like that!
Anything else?
I have now had thee children at Salford Royal, in 1997, 1998 and 2009 and I'm dreading giving birth there again! I had a c-section in 1998 and 2009 and yet I rarely saw a midwife and was made to feel like a burden when I asked for help with things.
