"Wrong food - very upsetting!"

About: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital / Paediatric surgery

(as the patient),

I am 15 years old.

I had an operation a few weeks ago on ward 79. The operation was successful and they were all helpful. I did have a couple of problems with the food - I never once got what I ordered and there was always a mix-up! The food was the main focus of my day so it was very upsetting when this was wrong all the time.

The surgical team were fantastic though and the care on HDU was really good. There were a few issues on W79 where my catheter bag and chest drains were left full a couple of times but on the whole it was very good indeed. The most important parts of my care were great.

Thank you for your comments about your care during your recent stay.

We're really pleased that you were delighted with the care from the surgical team and HDU. And also that overall you felt your care was great.

Regarding your comments about Ward 79 and problems with the food orders, I will take these to the Ward Manager on Ward 79 and will get back to you with their response.

Thank you.
