"Leaving after a 5 day ordeal."

About: Alexandra Hospital

What I liked

Leaving after a 5 day ordeal.

What could be improved

The speed in which it took for me to see a doctor - 7 hours after being admitted to a ward

Not contanimating my blood, which a student nurse did when taking blood from me

Giving me the correct treatment - I was incorrectly removed from vital IV treatment by one doctor, only to be put back on it the following day by a different doctor

The level of politeness from staff - it was not nice to hear swearing and to be ignored

For staff not to order take away food and to have it delivered to the ward for them to eat whilst ignoring patients calling with the emergency buzzer

Not to have a delay in going to x ray and for a scan of 8 hours

We take all complaints very seriously. A full investigation has been carried out following your complaint and a formal response sent to you. We clearly did not provide the level of care that would be expected to you in your time of need.

We are very sorry that your experience has been such a poor one.

Thank you for alerting us to your experience. It has raised our attention to some poor practice that needs to be addressed.
