"I was a very anxious patient admitted to..."

About: Scarborough General Hospital

What I liked

I was a very anxious patient admitted to a surgical ward having never been in hospital before. I was put at ease very quickly with the Doctors Nurses and most of the staff who I had contact with. The nurse and porter who took me to the Theatre were really kind and reassuring to me. My after care went without a hitch, the ward staff were all very pleasant but extremely busy, my choice of food at mealtimes was very good, and I was able to go home after five days.

What could be improved

The ward was quite noisy, especially at night when the staff gathered around the nurses station talking and perhaps could have been a little quieter whilst dealing with other patients during the night.

Anything else?

I was admitted under a certain consultant and his team and found them to be Excellent, my treatment from the beginning up to my follow up appointments was top class. I also had investigations done prior to my admission at Bridlington Hospital where I also received excellent treatment.
