"Really quick service at Litherland health centre"

I had an appointment with my GP at 3.30pm. He said I should have an X-ray on my painful knee (but it wasn't at all urgent).

The receptionist gave me the 'phone number to call & make an appointment at my local hospital or Health Centre. As it was my day off and I wasn't due another day off in the week for some time, I thought I might as well ring straight away on the offchance I could be seen the same day.

I was given an appointment at 5pm at my local Health Centre! I was really pleased. I went straight there and was seen immediately.

I realise this may be rare and I was probably lucky, but nonetheless I was very impressed. This seems better than it used to be years ago, and I'm sure it is down to the previous Labour Government.
