What I liked
My care immediately after the operation was good unfortunately y not all the qualified staff were as caring
What could be improved
Staff should be trained in person centred care and promotion of privacy and dignity and discouraged from discussing their problems with their childrens school and teachers when they should be carrying out their duties
Anything else?
Engaged sign on bathroom door was ignored and staff entered without knocking and did not apologise. Staff appeared to have no awareness of promoting privacy or dignity.
There was a ward sister but she kept to her office and did not walk the ward at all and appeared to be totally ignorant to the chaos on the Monday morning when there were no beds for the day cases and myself and others were forced to vacate their beds prior to discharge resulting in us being in pain and severe discomfort from being unable to use the hard seats in the waiting room. Also we were refused pain relief as our notes had been sent to pharmacy who then took nearly five hours to make up the prescription
