I was very stupid the other night and forgot that sharp knives and frozen burgers don't mix and promptly sliced my finger right open.
I trotted off to A and E as it was a deep cut and prepared myself for a long wait. What a pleasant surprise I had instead.
I had to wait around 20 mins for triage but as soon as I got in there the male nurse assessed the damage and then popped out the door returning with steri-strips. I was patched up in two minutes - tetanus background checked and on my way. It was a very pleasant surprise and something I hope happens more and more in triage with minor injuries (even though I feel extremely stupid for doing it in the first place).
A big thanks to the nurse involved (he had just come on duty at 7pm on Monday night) - I hope that you receive these thanks and carry on doing more of this in the future - it makes life so much less stressful. And if you do get this message I was rubbish at bowling - off balance with a bandaged hand was my excuse!
