"communication to the people waiting in..."

What could be improved

communication to the people waiting in the A & E, I understand that sometimes there is an overload of patients but on my visit there was only about 5 people waiting

Anything else?

I turned up with my 9 year old son at 2130,(he was complaing of a pain in his abdomem on the right side, I suspected appendicitus). when it turned midnight i asked the receptionist if it would be much longer? his reply was "sorry this doesnt happen often a doctor will be to see you shortley", No Dr came so by 0100 after my son complaining that he was tired and feeling better and wanted to go home, my ticket was about to run out which cost me 5pound for the 4 hours i was there.. so i left. It would have been quicker to go to Gloucester or even phone for an ambulance!!!!!!!!next time i will do either of the two. its a shame because the maternity ward is fabulous all 3 of my kids were born there.
